How to Become a Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena Taster

How to become a Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena taster?

The path to becoming a Grand Master is long and requires gradually acquiring all the necessary skills. The course is initially theoretical, with only the last four lessons being practical, and by doing so, you reach level AAA: Aspiring Student Taster.

After a year and with at least 20 guided tastings you become an AA Student Taster.

The title of A Taster is then awarded after three years, with a further 30 tastings per year and an exam.

But that’s not all! You become a Master Taster after another 3 years, still with a mandatory number of tastings to complete.

The next stages are that of Master Taster, Tasting Table Leader, and that of Grand Master, who is the president of the consortium.

Scaling the heights of tasting is therefore a long and arduous undertaking, it’s a bit like becoming a pilot and having to fly a certain number of hours: either you taste/fly, or you get suspended.

It seems tiring, right? But what a treat! 😉
